Swimmers of the Month for September
Congratulations to Michael and Kieran, our SWSS Swimmers of the Month for September
Congratulations to Michael (left) and Kieran (right) from El Dorado Hills, California, our Steve Wallen Swim School swimmers of the month for September! Michael and Kieran are 3-year-old twins, and have been taking swimming lessons with us for 5 months now. Michael and Kieran are great examples of how swim lesson experiences may start differently as well as follow different progression patterns along the way.
When Michael first stared his swim lessons he was fairly confident in the water, yet needed the structure and expertise of one of our trained swim instructors to help guide his energy and confidence in the correct way. Michael is now able to swim freestyle with “big arms”, rollover on his back to float, jump in off the wall and swim back to the wall for safety. He is now working on freestyle with side breathing as well as kicking on his back in order to learn backstroke.
Kieran followed a slightly different progression pattern, as he was more fearful of the water in the beginning and took a little more time to warm up to his swim lessons and instructor. Once he instilled this confidence his progression advanced quickly. He started working on streamlines, freestyle, jumps, as well as rolling over on his back to breathe just like Michael. It is very typical to see these different growth patterns as kid’s progress, but the great thing is that they are now advanced to similar levels.
Both boys have shown tremendous progress since they first started. Most importantly they enjoy their swim lessons and look forward to each and every class. Way to go, Michael and Kieran! Two more champion swimmers at SWSS!
