Congratulations to Haiden
Our SWSS Swimmer of the Month for August
Congratulations to Haiden from Shingle Springs, California, our Steve Wallen Swim School swimmer of the month for August! Haiden is 2 years and 11 months old, and can already swim independently on her own, float on her back, and swim to the wall for safety after jumping off the wall or step. She has now progressed to work on more advanced swimming skills such as rolling over on her back to breathe as well as kicking on her back independently. These swimming skills will allow her to become more confident in the water as well as help her swim longer distances.
Once Haiden develops these skills she will be able to swim across the pool as well as other longer distances by swimming with her face in the water, rolling over on her back when she needs a breathe, and rolling her face back into the water to continue swimming. Swimmers can continue this process multiple times in order to continue swimming for longer distances without stopping for rest. These skills also promote for her to stay in the prone swimming position in order to maximize her swimming proficiency and efficiency. Most importantly, Haiden loves her swim lessons at SWSS, and looks forward to her weekly private swim lessons. Way to go, Haiden! Another Champion swimmer at SWSS!
